The West Seniors members celebrated Mother’s Day by sharing Indian Sweets, which Savitri kindly donated.
Mother’s Day holiday arose in the 1900s due to the efforts of Anna Jarvis, daughter of Ann Reeves Jarvis. History states that following her mother’s 1905 death, Anna Jarvis conceived of Mother’s Day as a way of honouring the sacrifices mothers made for their children. The West Seniors, many of whom are mothers and some who are also grandmothers, celebrated the day honouring mothers.
